RHC General Contracting and Millwork engaged in a complete buidling restoration. Updates to the facades and stoops of 78 Bay State Road were accomplished without compromising the genuine style and beauty of the original structure. A complete new roof was constructed while precision repointing of the entire brick exterior took place. Historically correct period windows were crafted and installed as was a new mahogany entrance door that was built by R.H.C. in its Hanover, MA based millwork shop.
After interior lead-abatement procedures took place, a partial gutting and complete reconstruction of the interior building occurred. Completely new mechanical systems including up-to-date fire suppression was included in the scope.
All ten individually styled apartments in the renovated building include new kitchens and baths that include custom granite countertops, Energy Star appliances and low-flow toilets. With preservation of historical detail as an absolute, all architectural millwork, casework, radius moldings and staircases were either restored or reproduced to their original style and elegance.
